The author NEVER states, "hey, I'm a good person" or "I didn't deserve this" - RATHER, he implies most of the time that HE accepts this as punishment for his past. Did you even read the entirety of the third chapter? Did you earnestly believe the way Aisling humiliated him, despite whether he deserved it or not, was really appropriate and just? Especially if it's presumed she's done this prior, with multiple men before? Get your neo-feminist mentality out of your ass and actually critique a character from the information provided to you. You really think that's the standard introduction for a feel good love story? Also, you seem to believe this book portays our protagonist as a victim and the woman as his assailant, which is incredibly incorrect.
